Gente di Mare initiates collaboration with Carnival Corporation – Livorno becomes a hub for maritime training

Livorno continues to strengthen its role as an international reference point for maritime training.
Gente di Mare S.r.l., a training centre authorised by the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and based in Livorno, has launched a collaboration with Carnival Corporation (NYSE: CCL), the largest global cruise company, to develop dedicated training programmes for maritime personnel.With operational offices in Livorno, Genoa and Trieste, Gente di Mare is a well-established player in the training and management of maritime personnel, with a strong presence across Italy’s main industry hubs. Gente di Mare, a company controlled by the Fratelli Cosulich Group and part of its Shipmanagement Services Business Unit, is continuing its growth path within the maritime sector as part of the Group’s broader strategy to strengthen and expand its maritime services activities.
Leveraging the Group’s international network, industry expertise and long-established relationships across the shipping industry, Gente di Mare is further developing its role as a reference point for maritime training and professional development. The collaboration with Carnival Corporation represents a significant step in this direction.Carnival Corporation operates globally with a fleet of more than 90 cruise ships and a portfolio of some of the most recognised brands in the industry, including Costa Cruises, Princess Cruises and P&O Cruises, making it one of the largest employers in the maritime sector.
This initiative represents an important step for the local area, with the aim of strengthening the role of Livorno and Tuscany as strategic hubs for maritime training, while creating new professional development opportunities.The collaboration will progressively develop training activities that combine Carnival Corporation’s international operational experience with Gente di Mare’s expertise and regulatory framework, ensuring full alignment with both international standards and Italian regulations.
