Another significant milestone for Fratelli Cosulich Marine Energy, celebrating the keel laying of Lucia Cosulich, held on 9 October 2025 at Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipyard, China.

This ceremony follows the steel cutting earlier this year and marks the beginning of the vessel’s assembly on the building berth, the moment her structure truly starts to take shape. It represents another solid step in our journey to deliver a new generation of safe, efficient, and methanol-ready bunker tankers.

Lucia Cosulich, a 7,999 DWT IMO Type II chemical bunker tanker, is the second of four sister vessels methanol-ready and designed to carry, handle, and bunker methanol in compliance with MPA requirements. She will be equipped with an integrated Nitrogen Generator System, a complete methanol bunkering setup featuring Quick Connect/Disconnect couplings, dedicated transfer lines, and advanced safety and control systems tailored for low-flashpoint fuels.

Her phenolic epoxy-coated cargo tanks will provide superior chemical resistance and corrosion protection, ensuring greater cargo flexibility and faster turnaround between operations.

The keel laying of Lucia Cosulich underscores Fratelli Cosulich’s dedication in its ongoing newbuilding program, expanding its fleet with future-fuel-ready vessels and reinforces our long-term vision of supporting safer, cleaner, and more sustainable marine energy operations.
