Our colleagues at VLV (Vehicle Logistic Vado), together with COSCOS, have successfully completed an important automotive logistics operation at the Port of Vado Ligure, further strengthening the role of the area as a strategic gateway for Northern Italy.

At the end of December, around 1,500 MG Full Hybrid and Plug-in Super Hybrid vehicles, produced by SAIC Motor and destined for the Northern Italian market, were discharged from a Ro-Ro vessel at the port and transferred to the VLV car terminal in just seven hours. An operation made possible by efficient Ro-Ro handling, dedicated automotive facilities and strong coordination between sea and land logistics.

This new traffic flow adds to the already well-established automotive volumes handled in Vado Ligure and Savona, confirming the competitiveness of the logistics ecosystem developed around the port. Thanks to optimized road and rail connections, the operation also contributes to reducing transport distances and related CO₂ emissions.

Once again, coordinated maritime and inland logistics prove to be a key enabler for reliability, efficiency and sustainable growth within the automotive supply chain.
