On October 21st, several of our seafarers, accompanied by our Senior Crewing Executive, Saiful, attended a Seafarers Appreciation Event in Surabaya, Indonesia.

The event, organized by The Shipowners’ Club – our P&I Insurance Club - in collaboration with The Mission to Seafarers Indonesia, featured a series of impactful discussions. One of the highlights was a comprehensive overview of ‘The Mission to Seafarers’ and its pivotal role in supporting Indonesian seafarers, delivered by Rev. Josepha Taringan.

Capt. Hari Subramaniam from The Shipowners’ Club contributed valuable insights, focusing on critical topics surrounding crew mental health and overall well-being. Additionally, Dr. Lilis Setijarini from Laboratorium Klinik Utama Ultra Medica in Surabaya shared practical advice on the Medisea medical program, offering guidance on how crew members can effectively prepare for their medical assessments.

After the knowledge-sharing sessions, the attendees enjoyed a convivial lunch, providing an opportunity to reconnect, foster camaraderie, and strengthen their bonds.

This event served as an excellent platform to exchange views and enhance awareness around mental health at sea, highlighting the crucial importance of well-being within the crewing community.
