Fratelli Cosulich Group strengthens its presence in automotive logistics through GTA, the new operating company created to develop a national network dedicated to port logistics for finished vehicles.
The initiative is part of a broader collaboration between the Arcese, Conti and Cosulich families in the Finished Vehicle Logistics sector, with the objective of building an integrated system capable of connecting ports, compounds, rail services and final distribution across Italy.
GTA will consolidate the investments launched by XCA in Il Faldo and in the Port of Livorno, two strategic assets for the development of automotive logistics flows in Italy. Il Faldo, the historic compound located in Collesalvetti, is one of the most extensive automotive logistics platforms in Europe and offers large operational areas, internal rail connections and dedicated services for the storage, preparation, handling and distribution of vehicles.
The new company will also contribute to the development of a wider national network, including Vado Ligure, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Gioia Tauro and Ravenna. These platforms are increasingly relevant for international car manufacturers, especially Chinese and Asian brands that are reshaping their automotive flows towards Europe.
A further step in this direction is the launch of a new rail service between Gioia Tauro and Il Faldo, developed within the collaboration with Automar. The service is designed to ease congestion on arrivals at Civitavecchia, Livorno and Vado Ligure, offering flows from the Far East a competitive entry point and a more efficient intermodal connection towards Northern Italy.
“The birth of GTA represents an important step in the growth path that began with Il Faldo and with the strengthening of the XCA network,” says Marco Donati, General Manager of COSCOS, a joint venture of Fratelli Cosulich Group. “The market is changing rapidly: Asian manufacturers are looking for integrated, flexible and reliable solutions, capable of accompanying each vehicle from the port to the distribution network. Our objective is to offer a national platform that brings together port, compound, rail and final distribution within a single operational vision.”
“This operation stems from the desire to contribute to the construction of a new industrial system, capable of providing concrete answers to major emerging international automotive players,” comments Augusto Cosulich, President of Fratelli Cosulich Group. “Finished vehicle logistics requires vision, infrastructure, expertise and a strong ability to collaborate. With GTA, we are bringing together family, port and operational experiences with deep roots, while looking decisively towards new global flows.”
With GTA, Fratelli Cosulich Group further strengthens its role in automotive logistics and in the management of strategic port platforms, supporting the transformation of international flows with a concrete, integrated and scalable model in Italy.
