FC Marine Energy joins the discussion on shipping decarbonisation at the National Energy Forum
FC Marine Energy took part in the third edition of the National Energy Forum 2026, held on May 8 at the Excelsior Palace Hotel, on the Italian Riviera, and organised by Telenord as a live televised event focused on the future of energy, infrastructure and industrial transition.
Representing the Group was Chicca Franchini, Head of New Fuels, who joined the panel “Decarbonization: Shipping Between Strategies and Energy Transition”, organised by the International Propeller Club Port of Genoa.
The discussion brought together representatives from the maritime and industrial sectors to exchange perspectives on shipping decarbonisation, alternative fuels and the future of marine energy.
During the panel, Chicca shared the Group’s vision of a multi-fuel transition scenario, underlining how the evolution of the industry will rely on a combination of different fuel solutions rather than a single alternative. This approach is already reflected in our investments in LNG bunker vessels and methanol-ready units, developed to support the transition with greater flexibility.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of building reliable supply chains for alternative fuels, ensuring that technological innovation, regulatory ambitions and operational realities evolve together.
The forum once again confirmed the importance of dialogue between shipping, energy and infrastructure players in shaping the future of maritime decarbonisation.
